The Trek 9500 STS (Suspension Track System) is a standout piece of 1990s full-suspension mountain bike history, featuring Trek's unique STS rear suspension design where the chainstay itself flexes through a proprietary elastomer/coil shock unit — a clever, low-maintenance system that delivers genuine trail compliance without the complexity of a traditional pivoting linkage. The frame is built from carbon with Trek's distinctive OCLV-era tube shaping and features a gorgeous deep purple-to-forest green color-fade paint scheme that is iconic of Trek's mid-to-late 1990s lineup. The front derailleur braze-on mount, cantilever brake bosses, and threaded English bottom bracket make this a relatively straightforward vintage build. The rear shock unit appears to be a Risse Technology elastomer unit. The paint shows the honest patina of a used frame — scuffs along the STS chainstay, some scratches near the BB shell, and minor wear throughout — but decals remain largely intact and vibrant, and the frame appears structurally sound. A true collector's piece for the vintage MTB enthusiast or a genuinely rideable retro hardtail-adjacent build.
