Welcome to Traveling Ground LLC (“Traveling Ground,” “we,” “our,” “us”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website, services, valuation program, trade-in program, and any transactions involving the sale, purchase, shipment, or refurbishment of bicycles or related goods.

By accessing our website or using our services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.


1. Overview of Services

Traveling Ground provides:

  • Valuations and purchase offers for used bicycles and components
  • Refurbishment and resale of bicycles
  • Trade-in partnerships with bike shops
  • Local pickup, shipping coordination, and drop-off options
  • Online listings and sales through our website and third-party marketplaces
  • All valuations, offers, and purchases are subject to inspection and approval.

2. Eligibility

You must be:

  • At least 18 years old
  • The legal owner of any bicycle or item you sell to us
  • Providing accurate, truthful information
  • Submitting stolen goods is strictly prohibited and may be reported to law enforcement.

3. Valuations & Offers

When you submit your bike through our website:

3.1 Accuracy of Information

You agree that all details, photos, serial numbers, and descriptions you provide are accurate to the best of your knowledge.

3.2 Offer Validity

Offers are:

  • Based on market value, condition, and required refurbishment
  • Valid for 48 hours unless otherwise stated
  • Subject to inspection after the bike is received

3.3 Right to Adjust or Decline Offers

If the item arrives with undisclosed damage, missing parts, excessive wear, or structural issues, Traveling Ground may:

  • Adjust the offer to reflect actual condition, or
  • Decline to purchase the item and return it at the customer’s expense

Severe issues such as carbon cracks, dents, or unsafe structural damage may result in rejection.


4. Shipping, Pickup & Drop-Off

4.1 Packing Requirements

When shipping your bike to us, you are responsible for:

  • Proper packing using safe materials
  • Ensuring the bike is protected during transit

Traveling Ground is not responsible for damage caused by improper packing.

4.2 Shipping Labels

If we provide a prepaid label:

  • Shipping costs may be deducted from the final offer if previously agreed
  • We are not responsible for carrier delays, loss, or damage

4.3 Loss or Damage During Shipping

If a bike is lost or damaged during shipping:

  • The shipping carrier’s insurance policies apply
  • We are not liable for damages caused by the carrier
  • We will assist in claims when possible but cannot guarantee reimbursement

5. Inspection & Payment

5.1 Inspection Timeline

Once the bike is delivered:

  • Inspection typically occurs within 24–48 hours
  • Payment is not issued until inspection is complete

5.2 Payment Methods

Payments are issued via:

  • Electronic payment (Zelle, ACH, PayPal, etc.)
  • Any method mutually agreed in writing

5.3 Payment Release

We release full payment only if the bike matches the described condition.

If reassessment is required, the customer will be notified and must approve the new offer before payment.


6. Returns for Declined Items

If your bike is rejected due to undisclosed issues:

  • You may choose to have it returned
  • Return shipping costs are your responsibility
  • Returned items are shipped only after shipping payment is made

Items abandoned for 30 days after rejection may be disposed of at our discretion.


7. Buying From Traveling Ground

All refurbished bikes sold by Traveling Ground:

  • Are inspected and professionally tuned
  • Include detailed condition notes
  • Are sold as-is, without warranties unless explicitly stated

We are not responsible for future mechanical failures, wear, improper use, or damage occurring after sale.


8. Trade-In Program (Bike Shop Partners)

For trade-ins processed through partner shops:

  • Offers are provided by Traveling Ground, not the shop
  • Store credit values are determined by the shop
  • Traveling Ground is not responsible for disputes between the customer and the bike shop
  • Bikes must pass inspection after arrival at our facility
  • We reserve the right to adjust or decline any offer based on actual condition

9. Website Use & Content

9.1 Intellectual Property

All content, branding, and materials on the Traveling Ground website are owned by us. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute without permission.

9.2 User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent items submitted to us
  • Use our platform to commit fraud
  • Attempt to interfere with site functionality or data

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Traveling Ground is not liable for:

  • Shipping-related loss or damage
  • Losses caused by inaccurate descriptions provided by users
  • Indirect or consequential damages
  • Loss of value of your bike during shipping, inspection, or evaluation

Our maximum liability is limited to the amount we have agreed to pay for the bike.


11. Disputes & Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado.

Any disputes must first be attempted in good-faith resolution. If unresolved, they will be handled through binding arbitration in Denver County, Colorado.


12. Updates to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with a revised “Last Updated” date.

Continued use of our site or services indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
